An encouragement from Russell Lorfing

A friend of mine in another city sent me an email about a large church he recently visited. My friend went to all three of the Sunday morning services because the praise and worship was so short that he decided to stay for all the services just for the worship. He shared that all three services were identical, down to the pastor's message and even the jokes. He concluded that, "I can't see how they could have room for the Holy Ghost. They wouldn't know how to fit Him in."

My friend's message saddened me and I've been visiting with God about the state of the American Church and what, if anything, can be done about it. God dropped this nugget into my heart, "Make room for miracles." We are seeing the supernatural power of God at River of Grace Church because we make room for it, on purpose, not because we are special. Churches by the hundreds of thousands are not seeing the power of God because they simply don't have 'room' for it.

River of Grace Church may not be a whole host of things... we don't have the fanciest building, we don't have dozens of ministries for every conceivable need that someone might have, and we aren't even up to speed on what 'cool' is in the church world anymore... But Pastor Duane and I are investing everything we have and everything we are into this fact: As we expect and talk about, and believe and talk about, and anticipate and talk about the goodness of God, and His mighty power, it will manifest in every area of your life.

Make room for your miracle.
